Structural Dynamics

Structural Dynamic Vibration Assessment

Mainwave provides multichannel data acquisition and vibration analysis for building structures, industrial platforms, vehicles, underground assets and elevated tower structures across Melbourne, Victoria and Australia.

Natural frequencies, mode shapes, damping ratios, stress levels and fatigue life are assessed through a combination of field measurement and computational modelling — delivering the information needed to inform design decisions, manage risk and specify mitigation solutions.

Finite Element Analysis & Vibration Isolation

Mainwave's Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capabilities include assessment of footfall-induced vibration in buildings, and the design of stiffening, bracing and added-mass solutions to shift natural frequencies and reduce vibration levels to acceptable limits. Vibration isolation mount design and specification services are also available.

Typical applications include pedestrian bridges and walkways, high-rise building floors, industrial mezzanine platforms, and tower structures where dynamic loading is a design consideration.
